An English version after the first series of photographs
For this post I deviate for once from my usual subject: nature. Besides "nature" I have another passion: "street photography". The first time I took that kind of pictures I found it pretty scary. After all I intended to photograph people without first asking their permission. But as I’m not interested in posed, but only in natural photos, I took the plunge.
"Street Photography" is more than just a photo taken "in the street". The picture itself has to tell something without the need to explain it with words. Last year at Queen's Day, a Dutch holiday, I took the first series. The sundrenched children's flea market attracted many people. So the circumstances were fantastic and it should be easy to shoot great pictures. But the opposite was true. What's for example funny to photograph and tells at the same time a story? It all seems so simple. I soon realized that this kind of photography gets easier with increasing experience and a good preparation (where do I go to photograph?, what situations lend themselves best to it?) .
This series shows you an impression of the great fair where I photographed last week. Not all pictures are exactly "street photography". I've also added a few colourful fair images to explain the atmosphere. You can find more photos in "Street Photography/Straatfotografie" (on the right side under "Pages/Pagina's").

In mijn volgende blog weer natuurfoto's.
Next time nature photos again. Thanks to all my friends abroad for their spontaneous, nice comments and praising words on my last blog. I hope we keep in touch. Of course I will visit you on your own blog.
Groetjes/Greetings from the Netherlands, Joke
